How do I convert liters to gallons?

1 liter = 0.264 US gallons = 0.22 UK gallons. Divide liters by 3.785 for US gallons.

Does this work for horizontal tanks?

This gives total (100% full) volume. For partially-filled horizontal tanks, use the liquid-volume calculator which accounts for fill height.
